Corporate Housing – Pros and Cons

In the relocation industry, corporate housing is usually a term used for renting a furnished property, condominium, or apartment to companies, employees, government agencies, or other large groups as a means of an alternative to an extended hotel or even an ordinary hotel stay. In most cases corporate housing, which is commonly referred to as housing accommodations, are located in locations where there is plenty of space, such as near a busy shopping center, a major university campus, a business district, a park, or a lake.

What is Corporate Housing?

There are many advantages to corporate housing over conventional hotel or apartment housing. First of all, corporate housing can be located in locations where there is less traffic and a higher occupancy rate, making it a cost effective alternative to hotels or motels. Another advantage is that corporate housing facilities provide a secure, comfortable, and luxurious residence to their employees and guests. This is often a better choice for families that do not need a large home, and who can afford the higher rates of hotel rooms and motels.

When a corporation chooses to rent the corporate housing facilities and their residences to their employees and guests, they must carefully consider both their needs and the availability of the various facilities. The first step in determining this is by doing a thorough review of the specific company that they intend to hire as their residence.
